Cookies and Local Storage

Last updated · May 2026

This policy explains transparently what Mediterráneo Cup stores in your browser, for how long, with what purpose and what your rights are under LGPD (Brazil) and GDPR (European Union).

1. What are cookies and local storage?

Cookies are small text files written by the site to your device. Local storage (localStorage) is a similar facility offered by your browser that lets a site remember small preferences across visits. On this site we use only localStorage; we do not use HTTP cookies.

2. What this site stores

We currently store a single item in your browser's localStorage: 'mc:lang', which keeps the language you chose (pt, es or en). This item is written only when you explicitly click one of the language options in the top menu and remains stored until you remove it via browser settings.

3. What we do NOT use

We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, HotJar, remarketing tools, third-party embedded maps, third-party embedded videos, or any other tracking technology. The tournament's institutional video is served from our own domain.

4. Storage categories

We classify our storage in three categories: Strictly necessary (empty today), Functional (mc:lang item) and Analytics (empty today, reserved for future use). You can accept all, reject all, or customize your choice in the initial banner. Your decision is stored in 'mc:consent-v1' in localStorage.

5. Legal basis

Under LGPD (Law nº 13.709/2018), processing of personal data is based on your consent (art. 7, I) or our legitimate interest (art. 7, IX) where applicable. Under GDPR (Regulation EU 2016/679), storage of information on your device only occurs after your free, specific, informed and unambiguous consent (art. 6 and art. 7), except for strictly necessary items.

6. Your rights

You can, at any time: (a) review and change your cookie choice by removing the 'mc:consent-v1' item from your browser or using the cookie management link that will be added shortly to the footer; (b) request information about the data we process; (c) request portability, anonymization or deletion of your data. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email listed below.

7. How to remove data manually

In your browser, open the Developer Tools (F12 or Cmd+Option+I), go to Application > Storage > Local Storage > select the mediterraneocup.com domain and remove the 'mc:lang' and 'mc:consent-v1' items. You can also clear all site data from your browser's Privacy settings.
